Jack never worked on my system properly. Here is what I get when I try to
start jack:
jackd -d alsa -d hw:1,0
jackd 0.101.1

Sorry. The audio interface "hw:1,0" doesn't support any of the hardware
sample formats that JACK's alsa-driver can use.
