[PlanetCCRMA] USB midi question

I am having problems trying to get midi working on my system and poking 
around a bit in the archives got me a bit confused. So any help would be 
appreciated.
I am running FC5 on my laptop with an M-Audio Quattro card. Alsa drivers 
seem to be working
> /etc/rc.d/init.d/alsasound restart

Starting sound driver snd-intel8x0                         [  OK  ]
Starting sound driver snd-usb-audio                        [  OK  ]
Starting sequencer                                         [  OK  ]
Starting sequencer driver snd-seq-oss                      [  OK  ]
Starting sequencer driver snd-seq-midi                     [  OK  ]
Restoring sound driver settings                            [  OK  ]

But pd doesn't recognize any midi devices (audio works fine). The last 
time I managed to get midi working was under RH9.
Any ideas where to look for the problem?
