[PlanetCCRMA] Stereo problem with hexter-dssi and xsynth-dssi

Hi,

I posted this question before but have not found an answer yet: My Hexter 
and Xsynth dssi softsynths only produce sound on the LEFT stereo channel. 
The RIGHT channel is muted. Very, very irritating.

With other softsynths that I have tried ( whysynth, zynaddsubfx, aeolus ) 
I'm getting perfect L+R stereo sound.


I'm using Fedora FC5 / PlanetCCRMA on a Compaq Armada E500 laptop that has 
an ESS Technology ES1978 Maestro 2E soundcard, and uses the 
"radio-maestro" module ( says system-config-soundcard )
