Just a FYI, friend of mine had a linux audio workstation with the
nvidia drivers and he was plagued with latency problems until he
switched back to the free drivers.

Fairly typical for closed source graphics drivers to get graphics
performance at the expense of all else. :(  Hopefully your experience
will be better than his.
