Hello all,
I just purchased an M-Audio Audiophile USB interface. I'm just starting
with linux audio (but I've been using linux for about 4 years) so I'm
not quite sure what I'm doing wrong. I plug it in and boot up (FC3, IBM
Thinkpad T41) and it seems to find it all right.
]$ cat /proc/asounds/cards
0 [I82801DBICH4 ]: ICH4 - Intel 82801DB-ICH4
Intel 82801DB-ICH4 with AD1981B at 0xc0000c00, irq 11
1 [Modem ]: ICH-MODEM - Intel 82801DB-ICH4 Modem
Intel 82801DB-ICH4 Modem at 0x2400, irq 11
2 [tm ]: USB-Audio - Audiophile USB (tm)
M-Audio Audiophile USB (tm) at usb-0000:00:1d.1-2,
full speed
but I can't seem to get it to send sound there. When I try
]$ alsamixer -c2
I get "No mixer elems found".
When I use gamix the M-Audio shows up, but doesn't have any
options/buttons under it. I read that it uses big-endian byte ordering,
but I don't know how or if to change that.
Also, I know that some M-Audio cards use the envy24 chipset. Does anyone
know if this one does? If it does, where do I download envy24ctl ?
Thanks for help.
