Hi Ken. When I put FC3 as a fresh install on the machine a few weeks ago I had
a similar problem. There are a lot of updates for FC3, about 800MB. Running
apt-get dist-upgrade resulted in, a "couldn't complete transaction". But
doing the upgrade in 2 stages worked ok. Apt-get update, then apt-get
upgrade, and when that has finished, apt-get dist-upgrade. Also it may be
worth looking in
/var/cache/apt/archives/partial . Check that the partial directory is empty.
If not. Delete anthing in it. DONT trash the lock file in the archives
directory. All the best. Nigel.
