[PlanetCCRMA] can't boot any 2.6.12x kernel

My Dell 470 Workstation with 2 Xeon processors and 2 SCSI drives running
off a Perc 320 /DC hardware controller in Raid0, nVidia Quadro NVS and
Audigy2 running a fully updated Fedora Core 3 throws a kernel panic with
the Planet 2.6.12-0.21.rdt.rhfc3.ccrmasmp kernel, also
2.6.12-1.1372_FC3smp and 2.6.12-1.1371_FC3smp.
Everything works fine with uniprocessor 2.6.12-1.1372_FC3 and all other
2.6.11x-smp kernels including 2.6.11-0.3.rdt.rhfc3.ccrmasmp from the Planet.
With acpi being a problem affecting earlier SMP kernels I tried adding
acpi=off to GRUB which altered the particular panic behavior (all panics
reported multiple Symbol not found messages) but still resulted in a
panic boot abort.
I'm searching for this problem and of course a solution but haven't
found it yet. Anyone here able to shed any light on this? Again, all
2.6.11x kernels both SMP and UP boot fine, only UP 2.6.12x will boot
with all 2.6.12x SMP unable to boot at all.
Thanks for any help!
