[PlanetCCRMA] [OT] Trackpad help

Sorry if this is the wrong forum to post this question to.

I'm setting up my first Linux system. I've got Fedora 3 (on a Fry's
"Great Quality" laptop) and planet ccrma running fine. My problem is
with the trackpad. It defaults so that tapping the trackpad is the
same as a click. I'd like to change the settings on my trackpad so that
tap is off, and so that the speed of the mouse is slowed down.

I have searched the net for information on this but have found nothing
that works. I looked for a "trackpad" file at:
/etc/sysconfig/trackpad
but no such file is on my system. I do have:
/etc/sysconfic/mouse

This "mouse" file says:
FULLNAME="Synaptics - Synaptics Touchpad"
MOUSETYPE="imps2"
XEMU3="yes"
XMOUSETYPE="IMPS/2"
DEVICE=/dev/input/mice

I am unsure how to proceed. How can I edit my trackpad's settings.

Thanks in advance,
Mitch

P.S. I receive the digest.
