Yes, I'm aware of that.  I'm not sure what they are talking about here:

"Update 3: Be aware that kernel 2.6.8 also contains the memory leak
which makes it impossible to write audio cds, even as root."


I have not found this to be the case with all hardware (I can make it
work on one machine but not another, with cdrdao... might be different
with k3b).
