OK, I went to a Planet CCRMA mirror (ATrpms) because that site allowed
directory listings, which allowed me to install some older packages. So
I think I now have all Planet CCRMA packages installed, with
second-from-newest version on pacakges that have had multiple versions
released. I ran Up2Date in text mode to make it easier to get the error
text out. It was possible to try to download every package from Planet
CCRMA using Up2date, but that might have become a big hassle (although I
might just try it later). Instead, by manually rolling back the
packages to their previous versions, this basically simulates what would
happen if somebody downloaded all of the Planet CCRMA packages a while
ago using Apt, then tried to update later using Up2Date. Using this
method gives a "conflict" list that is far from complete, but this at
least gives you an idea of some packages that will download and install
via Up2Date (most of those within reason) and some that do not (so far
only two of them found, possibly up to 9 more if Up2date is used to
manually download all of those LADSPA plugins). I've come up with many
more errors before (enough that in graphical mode of Up2Date on my
monitor could not display all of them), which I can only assume might
have come when some updated package had new prerequisites to be downloaded.

On another note, you used to provide direct downloads of the kernel and
ALSA packages from the website... Why no longer?
