[PlanetCCRMA] gem film broken

Hi,

I'm new to linux, pd and gem, and planet ccrma was suggested as the
easiest way to git into all of them simltaneuously - and it has been
apart from playing video in Gem.

I didn have this working once (under Fedora1), then something went wrong
and I re-installed linux from scratch and now it wont work.  can anyone
help ?  

(note: it also responds basically the same with the demo files included
with Gem)
