[PlanetCCRMA] Now that I have discovered CCRMA....

My ideas on backing up installed CCRMA packages:

Set apt-get to leave the downloaded apts in /var/cache/apt/archives

Save them somewhere else when done and do "apt-get clean" to del them from "archives"

Most apts save their setups in the directory of the user that starts them; so backup your home directory if you run everything as user like I do. Backup /root if needed. And as anypne who is worried about settings being saved; backup /etc (some aplication settings are there too).

It's as important to save the settings as it is to save the appts. I would rather just re-install the CCRMA rpms and my settings, then al of theindividual filesthat are in each rpm.

And another important thing to do if you can:

Keep the most recent CDs of the planet archives for your version of redhat. Nando puts out iso images every so often that we can burn to CD. The programs on them aren't the absolute latest, but it's nice to have them when needed.

Godd luck, and have fun!
