[PlanetCCRMA] ardour won't run

On my Fc1 system built from CCRMA iso's (ES1371)I still can't get ardour 
to run despite help from your correspondents.

[joe@Craythorne-Consultants joe]$ ardour

Segmentation fault

[joe@Craythorne-Consultants joe]$ touch .ardour//sfdb

[joe@Craythorne-Consultants joe]$ ardour

Can anyone suggest the next step?
