[PlanetCCRMA] Configuring midisport 2x2

Hi all,

Now that my Echo Mona Laptop is working (Yippie!) thanks to Giuliano 
Pochini, I'm trying to get my midisport 2x2 interface to work with 
Planet CCRMA.
lsusb reports:
Bus 002 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
Bus 002 Device 002: ID 0458:002e KYE Systems Corp. (Mouse Systems)
Bus 001 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
Bus 001 Device 003: ID 0763:1002 Midiman

And the light in the device pulsates, which I think means the firmware 
has been loaded.
I'm using alsa-driver-1.0.7, since I need it to use my Echo Mona, which 
I'be built using:
./cvscompile --with-cards=intel8x0,mona,snd-usb-audio

but apparently the module snd-usb-audio is not installed or something 
since even though snd-usb-audio.o exists in the alsa-driver-1.0.7/usb 
directory, I get:
[root at localhost andres]# /sbin/modprobe snd-usb-audio
modprobe: Can't locate module snd-usb-audio

My modules.conf reads:

Is the snd-usb-audio module the correct one for the midisport 2x2? Can 
any one spot what's missing?
