Hello
I'm having fproblems installing alsa on a dell latitude, soundcard
00:1f.5 Multimedia audio controller: Intel Corp. 82801CA/CAM AC'97 Audio
Controller (rev 01)
I've installed fedora core 1, from the planetccrma site, and have tried
this with both the redhat and planet ccrma modified kernels.
When i run alsaconf i get the following error message, and do not hear any
sound.
Loading driver...
Starting sound driver snd-intel8x0

Hint: insmod errors can be caused by incorrect module parameters,
including invalid IO or IRQ parameters.
You may find more information in syslog or the output from dmesg

Saving the mixer setup used for this in /etc/asound.state.
/usr/sbin/alsactl: save_state:1061: No soundcards found...
maybe this has to do with oss modules loaded: lsmod gives:
