I've recently inherited a Gateway Solo 2500 laptop from another department
on our campus. I've installed RH9 and PlanetCCRMA on this machine, but
have yet found a way to get the on-board sound to work. I found that it
uses the NeoMagic NMA2 chip, and after much searching found little about
using this chipset with Linux. It's listed on the alsa-project website,
but I have yet to get anything to work. Has anyone on the listed tried to
wrestle with this beast before and can offer pointers? Thanks.
