The current jack has a built in limitation with regards to usb alsa
devices that will be removed in newer versions. There was a LONG thread
about this in the jack list. If enforces the power-of-two buffer
limitation (that was in the original jack spec but was never enforced)
and usb devices are generally not happy with that.
At some point I should try to release the same jack we currently have
but with the test removed so that it can run with any buffer size you
choose.
