[PlanetCCRMA] Building a New System

I'm going to be putting together a brand new system in a month or so and I'm
asking for opinions and advise on components.

I was thinking about using Red Hat 9.0.  Are there recommendations about
sound cards? Output will eventually go to a Mackie Mixer.  Or other
peripherals?  What has been your experience interfacing midi to CLM? Or
generating a midi file using, say Cakewalk, and then trying to use it as an
input list to CLM?
