Maybe you can send me some details off the list?

I'm also building a new machine (875p chipset, P4 800MHz fsb based) and
the newest kernel I'm building is able to recognize all the built in
goodies like serial ata and gig ethernet... (I just tested latency on a
serial ata drive, not too bad).
