[PlanetCCRMA] does anyone have a midisport 2x2 cold plugging?

I posted a couple days ago that my MidiSport 2x2 on my RedHat/CCRMA 8.0 
system which is fully updated hotplugs just fine, however it will not 
coldplug.  I've followed all directions and am pretty experienced with 
Linux audio, but just can't get this thing working.

If ANYONE has this working on their system, PLEASE share your 
procedure/configuration.  I would love to have this device function as 
it is capable and not have to unplug/replug just to get it to light up.
