I have been using some of those patches in the 2.4.20 kernel I'm
testing. I ended up not using the O(1) / lowlat / preempt because it did
not have good interactive behavior (in my tests). It was possible to
lose control of the keyboard and mouse for seconds at a time during
heavy disk bound compiles. Some of the other patches were useful.
