Hi Pablo,

I don't know about the new Fedora stuff, but the CCRMA packages for Red
Hat 9 have a multi-processor version, so that should be ok for you.
Unless you have very special hardware, the choice of distros depends
more on how much compiling and configuring you want to do yourself vs
how simple you want your install to be [more touchy issues such as what
"free speech" vs "open source" aside, of course!]. Red Hat/CCRMA
provides the easiest install I have seen yet.

With CCRMA, your ALSA configuration should go pretty smooth if you
follow the steps listed on the site. If not, there is probably someone
here to help. Sometimes RME cards can be tricky!

For some other tips on Linux sound there are a lot of websites to visit,
but maybe a good place to start would be with some docs I made for a
workshop on Linux Audio. Links to other good sources of info are there:

Good luck!
