Hi,

Not my licky day, just figured that the usb-cable that came with that
box was bad...
anway, the system recognizes the device when I plug it in (lsmod shows
the use of "soundcore" increase from 2 to 4), my question now is, how
can I access it for example from gamix? I tweaked my modules.conf that
it looks like this:

alias parport_lowlevel parport_pc
alias usb-controller usb-uhci
# --- ALSA configuration
alias char-major-116 snd
alias char-major-14 soundcore
alias snd-card-0 snd-es18xx
alias snd-card-1 snd-usb-audio
# --- OSS compatibility
alias sound-slot-0 audio
alias sound-slot-1 snd-card-1
alias sound-service-0-0 snd-mixer-oss
alias sound-service-0-1 snd-seq-oss
alias sound-service-0-3 snd-pcm-oss
alias sound-service-0-8 snd-seq-oss
alias sound-service-0-12 snd-pcm-oss
# card 2 (USB)
alias sound-service-1-0 snd-mixer-oss
alias sound-service-1-3 snd-pcm-oss
alias sound-service-1-12 snd-pcm-oss
# --- Options
options snd snd_major=116 snd_cards_limit=1 snd_device_mode=0666
snd_device_gid=0 snd_device_uid=0
options snd-es18xx snd_port=0x220 snd_mpu_port=0x330 snd_irq=5
snd_dma1=1 snd_dma2=3 snd_isapnp=0
# --- Keep modules from being autocleaned
add options -k snd-card-0
# --- ALSA configuration END
