Fernando,
   Thanks for considering it. I'll take a look at shorewall too. I setup
firestarter on my home machine this weekend successfully, but it failed for
dependencies on my office machine. I need to get better at solving these
dependency problems.

   Keep it in mind.

Yep, I agree. I use shorewall here at ccrma. It does not have a nice
gui, but it is more flexible (at least last time I checked, it has been
a long time since I set that up).

But for now I'd like to keep the focus on audio and music applications.
There are rpms available so it is a matter of downloading and
installing. Obviously not as nice as "apt-get install" :-) I'll keep a
note on this and maybe add it in the future.
