[root@moss alla]# apt-get --simulate install kernel-up
Reading Package Lists... Done
Collecting File Provides... Done
Building Dependency Tree... Done
Package kernel-up is a virtual package provided by:
  kernel-up#2.4.19-1.ll@i386 2.4.19-1.ll
  kernel-up#2.4.19-1.ll@i386 2.4.19-1.ll
You should explicitly select one to install.
E: Package kernel-up has no installation candidate

Thankyou for the suggestion. I changed the @i686 to @i386 and the
original command worked.. (the online docs say i686, should there
have been an i686 version on the redplanet-20021113-i386-8.0-up.img?)

anyway thanks.
