gentoo is an example of a dist with motif-2.5.2.

the Homepage is specified as: https://github.com/thentenaar/motif

tag v2.5.2 there is commit 0b652e0a0c16 dated 2026-Apr-17.

v2.3.8, otoh, is dated 2017-Dec-05 and v2.3.9 2025-Jul-25.

it looks like maintenance was revived last year or so.
