[CM] What motivated the change from CL to Scheme?

On a related note, I have been debating for a while whether to put in the
work to ensure CM3 code (or at least, what is in the Notes book) could run
unchanged on Scheme for Max and/or Scheme for Pd. My reservations are
mostly around the fact that Notes is out of print and not available
digitally so I don't really have a good resource to point potential users
too. Which is unfortunate, because I think the ability to run inside the
Ableton Live environment is pretty compelling to younger users, or anyone
also involved in mainstream production. Dr. Boulanger, for example, uses
csound in Max at Berklee, and gets a lot of interest because of the ability
to run in Live. (and I ported Lazzarini's more recent csound~ object from
Pd to Max to support that).
But... if anyone here would use such a thing for courses or what not,
please do let me know. If there would be sufficient uptake I could
certainly justify including it in my work plan.
