[CM] Lint suggests do

Hi all,

I've started running lint.scm against my (working) code, and i've
understood and implemented a lot of the suggestions that it provides. 

One that I don't understand is the suggestion that i replace a lot of
named lets with `do` loops

Are do loops more efficient, or is this a stylistic choice? i've always
found them to be sort of unlispy, and i'd love to learn more here.
