many Forth/Ruby improvements thanks to Mike.

in Snd, xg.c is no longer included automatically.  The changes for
   gtk 4 are very extensive, so this module is currently in
   transition.

added snd.desktop and tools/auto-tester.scm.

checked: sbcl 1.4.2|3, gtk 3.93.0

Subject: [CM] Grace 3.10.1. bug fix release

I just made a bug fix release of Grace 3.10.1 that upgraded to the latest JUCE (v5.2.0) to solve three problems on Mac High Sierra: invisible font,  keyboard latency, and internal synth popping .

If the internal synth still give you pops you might need to reboot.  Or better yet just switch over to the application bus and send to a higher quality synth because I dont know how much longer mac will continue to ship the old DSLMusicDevice!

Thanks ? meanwhile Daniel Hensel has found a few bugs in the clm and osc interface that will affect all ports (unbound variables caused by not tracking things well on my part?) so I?m going to make another bug fix release today or tomorrow to resolve those issues. Thank you very much Daniel!

In the meantime, I don't know how many of you track JUCE, but in the last two years it has really taken off as a development platform. It is now owned by ROLI, and they now have a core team of developers in addition to Jules, turning out some cool stuff, including a new DSP library for developing C++  audio apps and plugins.

im going to look at this to see if i cant get some of the audio routines going in real time, id love to have a real time granulator that I could control via sprouted processes!

Just made aware that I set the download options incorrectly so the prebuilt executable for mac was not linked to the Download button. Sorry!

If you are on a mac you can go to the site now and if you click on the green Download button you will download Grace-3.10.2.zip which contains the executable app.

for windows and linux you?ll need download the sources (cm-3.10.2.zip) and build.  if anyone builds grace on windows please let me know -- I would be happy to upload that so windows folks could grab an executable too.

Congratulations on Snd vers. 18.

I'm getting a load error on CM_patterns.scm, from emacs.

(load "/opt/snd-18/CM_patterns.scm")

>load: can't open "r7rs.scm"
"/opt/snd-18/CM_patterns.scm"[11]: (require r7rs.scm)

I've grepped around trying to see if I still have a snd-17 label stuck someplace but haven't found that yet.  Seems to load ok from listener however.  It could just be me doing something wrong.

That looks like a *load-path* issue.  Try

(set! *load-path* (cons "/opt/snd-18" *load-path*))

before loading CM_patterns.scm.

Hello Lucas, Im sorry that you are having problems building the app.  I do know someone that has built it successfully on linux so I know its possible!  While I  don't have linux available it sounds as if you have actually built Grace but don't know how to start the executable (?)

Meanwhile a student of mine has build the app for his Window?s laptop and I will post his executable on source forge as soon as I have some time towards the end of the week.

fwiw Grace, with sources updated from svn just now, builds and runs fine
on a Fedora machine here (fc26).

I think that
Starting the executable on linux needs to be done via a terminal window; it
doesn't appear on the menu.
 (Probably you also need to put in the directory where the executable has
been installed.)
