Hi list,

I am trying to open a flac file with snd 11.7 on Debian and it throws

;mus-error ("can't translate /tmp/somefile.flac
(Flac header: unknown (0x0) data format)
")
can't translate: can't translate /tmp/somefile.flac
(Flac header: unknown (0x0) data format)
Segmentation fault

https://ccrma.stanford.edu/software/snd/snd/snd.html
says that snd would be capable of "automatically translating to a
readable format", amongst others, flac files.

What could I be doing wrong? I hope my version is not too old as I would
like to avoid having to compile it myself.

snd --versions gives

This is Snd version 11.7 of 9-July-10:
    s7: 1.62 (3-July-10), Xen: 3.4
    Jack: 0.122.0
    Sndlib 21.2 (11-Dec-09, float samples)
    CLM 4.31 (7-Mar-10)
    GSL 1.15
    fftw-3.3.4-sse2-avx
    Gtk+ 2.24.17, Glib 2.36.1, Pango 1.30.0, Cairo 1.12.14
    LADSPA: 1.1
    gmp: 6.0.0, mpfr: 3.1.2-p11, mpc: 1.0.3
    Compiled May 8 2013 12:52:49
    C: 4.7.3
    Libc: 2.19.stable
    host: x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu

Thanks for any ideas!
Peter
