If you have libsamplerate, you could probably add its location to LDFLAGS in the configure invocation; if you don't have it, I think its home is http://www.mega-nerd.com/SRC/. If you have it and the LDFLAGS trick fails, I could add a prefix argument to the configure switch like --with-motif-prefix.
