config.log might give some information -- look for fftw -- perhaps you need the fftw-devel package? (I don't know how the rpms are set up for this case, but the configure script needs to find the pkg-config stuff -- on my machine it is /usr/local/lib/pkgconfig/fftw3.pc, but I built fftw from the sources).
