I think others have mentioned that that device doesn't work in Snd -- I don't have one, so it's hard to fix. I think the error message is trying to say that there aren't any active output channels (which is independent of the hardware -- did you activate at least one output channel?). You also need to activate at least one input. As the default, the recorder just shows the signals it can find.
