[CM] [SND] Illegal instruction (core dumped)

I'm using snd7 with jack (Mandrake 10.1 PPC) and when I want to record I get 
this:

[root@localhost root]# snd
dev: 0
Warning, jacks samplerate is 44100 (and not 22050), and the recording will use 
this samplerate too.
dev: 65536

snd then disappears. How do I permanently change snd's samplerate to 44100?
Is that the problem?
