[CM] CLM under windows

What is "vaws"?  Is this related to the "mmsystem" calls?
I could make a "directX" version (or whatever it's called)
of the audio functions.

I use the cygnus gcc.  I'd actually be very interested to
find out what Borland C says about the sndlib/clm code.
