DACs for computer music workstation

Hi,

Please forgive if this is a FAQ.  I would like to 
configure a new computer to be well set up for
computer music using CLM.  It will be a pc running
linux. I am having some difficulty deciding about
audio output.  On my current computer, I have a 
Sound Blaster 16 which is quite noisy.  The DACs
seem to pick up a lot of RFI from the processor.
What would you use to get clean audio output?  Shouldn't
the DACs be shielded from RFI?
