ive placed a new version of cm on ccrma-ftp and guido.zkm.de. Main new features are (1) a new pattern type called Rewrite implements rule-based term rewriting. useful for implementing musical finite automata, l-system etc. See dictionary.rtf and stella/examples/rewrite.lisp.  (2) All the documentation under doc/ has been reworked and checked (thank you Tobias Kunze for helping): dictionary.rtf has a new format and many new entries, ditto midi.rtf. item-streams.rtf has been completly rewritten and serves as a sort of tutorial now. Most of the other docs have been encorporated or thrown out.

The macintosh archive is now cm.sea.bin, which should be easier to ftp and restore. Transfer in binary mode, then on the mac use "Download->Application" in BinHex5.0 to restore cm.sea, then just double click cm.sea to restore.  You no longer need stuffit or have to debinhex mcl-midi.c.o.hqx.
