Dear Friends:
My paper on rethinking the principles of bank regulation has just been published this month in the Journal of Economic Literature.  I tried to go beyond Admati and Hellwig's basic critique to develop a general perspective on the problems of bank regulation.
I originally wrote the first draft to give to you last year, and it has benefited from many people's comments and suggestions since then.  The paper is now available from the JEL.
